I was contacted via telephone call requesting an interview. The interviewer asked to meet at a local coffee shop instead of at the place of business. I was hesitant because it didn't feel like a very private place for a job interview. The coffee shop only had outside seating. I didn't wear a suit because of the setting and the temperature was supposed to be above 80 degrees. The interviewer was very nice, introduced herself and the interview proceeded in a very casual, unstructured manner. There were a lot of distractions due to the number of coffee shop customers. The interviewer did not take notes, had very few follow up questions and appeared to be not serious about the interview (my perception). The interview ended awkwardly and the interviewer said a decision would be made by the end of the week and I should hear from them then. By the end of the week there had been no contact, so I called and left a message asking if they had made a decision. Two weeks later I received an email stating they wished to pursue other candidates at this time.
