Phone screen went very well but the Hiring Manager is missing the point and not looking at the candidate holistically. We spoke for over an hour and we clicked very well. I nailed every question and am most certainly qualified to do the job, even qualified to do his job!
However, I was told the next day that I didn’t qualify because I lacked 1% of 110% with no eCommerce experience and was up front about that on the phone call and it was missing from my resume because I refuse to overstate my experience or lie to secure a job.
I have over 27 years doing software development and determined this manager clearly misses the point of what a qualified person brings to the team, even missing one shred of technology. Instead he's looking for someone with 110% of the required skills when the right person can get up to speed with any technology in short time, especially eCommerce which is not rocket science!
So he'll spend months trying to fill this role instead of filling it immediately with someone that can make them shine.
Their loss and I’ve come to realize this is very common in the LA area with perfectionists seeking perfectionists...
