What happened to professional courtesy?
As a candidate, there are certain expectations recruiters and companies expect.
Why should I not expect the same courtesy when going through the interview/ hiring process?
Applied online. 3 days later received invitation to complete an online assessment. 3 weeks after that I received an email to schedule first interview. Then they rescheduled for the following week. I was supposed to interview with the director but was advised he was busy and a manager stepped in 5 mins. beforehand.
Manager is very knowledgeable and seems like a really great guy.
Interview went amazingly well from start to finish. Everything discussed seemed to be an ideal fit.
I received very positive feedback during the hr long process.
-You're exactly what we're looking for-
-Your experience is a perfect match for our team-
I stated I felt the same and was excited for the opportunity.
He advised that they were making a decision within a week or two and I would definitely hear back either way.
Then nothing, GHOSTED.
A week later I sent a follow up email to the recruiter, no response
Waited another week and left the recruiter a vm, no return call.
Yet, my online profile still shows I'm an active candidate ( now 9 weeks after applying)
Why do companies think this is an acceptable practice?
Either make an offer or don't...
Sincerely,
