Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 5 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela Hollyburn Properties (Vancouver, BC) em nov. de 2019
Entrevista
The interview itself was fine. Had (what I thought was) a great, one hour + interaction with the marketing manager. The interview was challenging in that the questions were meaningful and purposeful. The conversation was positive and substantive. I intimated a desire for next steps and received the same sentiments more explicitly. At the end of the interview, next steps were defined and a timeline set for follow up established. There was a “process” that needed to be followed and other candidates interviewed. All well and good, no problems there. A touch base was to occur in subsequent weeks. That’s where the disappointment and disillusionment set in. After nearly four weeks, no phone call or email. I reached out, doing my own due diligence and...crickets. Ended up finding the marketing manager’s email on my own as I had been coordinating solely with HR contact for an update. Didn’t hear back. Then a week later, I get a reply to my original email to HR; guess they found it in the spam bin(?). I find it off putting yet refreshingly revealing when companies do not reciprocate respect and proper disposition. Organizations come to expect business etiquette and professionalism (I was on time and prepared) from candidates but seem to feel no obligation to practice the same. I will chalk this up as dodging the proverbial bullet as an organization that doesn’t value respect and human decency enough for even a templated email or return phone calls isn’t one that offers an enriching career opportunity.
