Totally some 8 rounds was there. The HR will send you a mail initially asking for your Introduction ( it will be having some 20 questions ) which will cover all your work , education, dream, and why to join hortonworks if they are impressed with your mail, they will call your a skype round of interview. ( probably the manager) . -- Dont work here. he will just ask you basic questions and explain you what they do in company and whats there expectation from you. Yeah of course he might ask you some technology questions . They are so much interested in java Techie's . so only if you know every part of java , j2EE tell the you know java. After skype round, they will call face 2Face interview . Belive me, the hospitality, the Enviornment there will ease your interview Worry. Just be cool, attend each questions probably they will be asking you general questions on technolgy you are going for( java or javascript) My case i was not knowing anything about hadoop or big Data so i was not having questions on this domain. They asked me how to debug in javascript, debugging tools, IDE's . issues faced in solution level. so be prepared for this one's. Each round will be different( your future teammates might be interviewing you) , you we cant predict one will be easier and another is tough . just be positive after each level. They wont reject you if you didnt do well in just one round( belive me, mine was very bad first round). Be prepared with Why hortonworks, What hortonworks do, And some of there products too.
