I meet the Principal at a Job fair. There I had somewhat of a job interview and also met the assistant principal. We went over my resume and had a short interview on the spot. About five days later I had a formal interview with all of the assistant principals.I was asked on August 9 to attend our professional development course on August 10 and on August 12 I signed my contract. After signing the contract it took about two months before I had the ability to use the computer system at HISD. on August 24 I started teaching.

They tended to ask very theoretical questions looking for very theoretical teaching responses. Furthermore, they asked me questions about how I would handle students using profanity, students using profanity against me and how I would respond to this. Which I answered their theoretical questions with mainly practical answers and explain that students using profanity and calling me names really dependent on the specifics of the situation. In other words if I had a student who normally behave well and one day was really agitated I would handle this different than the student who use this sort of vocabulary on a daily basis.
