How do you handle angry customers/agitated individuals.

I replied that I try to let them know that they've been heard and empathize with their situation. I also attempt to let them know that I am a person, not a bot, who wants to do everything I can to assist with their issue. For many, that is enough to be able to communicate more openly and get to the point of resolution. Of course, also using all means provided by the company to help make the customer content and satisfied with the resolution.
