I did my research and even talked with some current friends who were employed at Zillow and just asked for the MV salary because I knew this was primarily commission heavy. I thought they meant the base-salary absent of commission so I threw out a number that surprised them and they probably thought I wasn't a good fit for the sales team. (Didn't realize this until after the interview)
