I was excited to hear about the position through a friend of a friend. The process started easily enough, but ended with literally 8 rounds of in person/phone interviews, tests, and reference checks (two separate people interviewed my references extensively). Each time I would come in for an interview, a response I gave to a question was repeated back to me incorrectly and I would correct it. I was asked every interview how I heard about the position. On the last interview I was interrogated and told that they'd "rather [me] tell [them I] made the whole thing up" and requested that I tell them how I really heard about the position. Of course, I did not compromise my integrity to pacify the situation. I gave name of the friend of the friend who I'd heard about the position from and that wasn't enough. This was an unadvertised position, so I'm not sure why hearing it from a friend of a friend was such a big issue and apparently unbelievable. It's a great company, but not if you are an admin for the CEO.
