This was by far the most professional interview I've had for a research assistant position. The hiring manager did ask me questions about times that I had failed or succeeded, and several more nitty gritty questions than were otherwise asked when I have interviewed with PIs

A short phone interview with the hiring manager was followed quickly by in person on-campus interview. On-campus interview consisted of meeting with ~8-10 people (HR, hiring manager, team members, lab heads, assistant director, director) in addition to a group presentation for team members. Final decision took more than 3 months from the phone interview.
