Brief phone screen (15 minutes) with the recruiter, take-home assignment, in-person interview.
I had applied to this position via AngelList and then received a notification for a phone screen. I talked to the recruiter who was super nice, although the 15 minute phone screen was way too short. She also spend most of the time pitching the company and the cofounder. Then she sent me a take-home assignment via email and wanted me to complete it whenever possible. The take-home assignment seemed simple enough, but also was a turn-off from the role itself since it was about prioritization with integrations. I had to create a roadmap, which I felt like was not a true gage of a PM's skill.
I also went on Glassdoor and read the negative reviews from former employees, which sort of made me second guess interviewing here, but what really sealed the deal was how the co-founder responded to each bad review. It looked as if he had spent copious amounts of time responding to them and sounded incredibly angry and defensive in each review, almost as if in childish rage. Those things alone made me not want to continue the process even though originally I had been pretty interested and intrigued by the company. If you look on their website's career page, the company seems super fun and the role was pretty interesting.
Overall, I'm pretty wary of companies who make you do so much work for them right off the bat before they even get to know you. I've done that a few time with startups and it never works out, but you end up wasting a day doing the work.
Thanks for the feedback! We try to make the assignments as stress-free as possible and certainly don't want to get free work out of applicants. We will do our best in the future to make these assignments as applicable to the roles as we can.

I went through a video interview since I am remote. It was professional, the team were well prepared, and I felt comfortable talking to them.
I have interviewed a many blockchain companies, and most of the time they have young interns talking to me and I can also tell they are disorganized and not experienced. I did not get this feeling with Hydrogen Platform.
