I had a fantastic experience in the interview process. Everyone I spoke to was exceptional. I wish more companies would interview like HyperGiant.
After speaking with a recruiter, I spoke with the Director of Engineering, followed by an engineering manager. The process was streamlined and effective.
I would highly recommend HyperGiant based on my experience.

Describe a time you had conflict in the workplace.
Referral, then spoke with recruiter, then online coding assessment, and then other parts. I didn't do well on the coding assessment so did not move on. Process seemed fair overall.

Before you even talk to a human, you need to complete a 2-hr HackerRack test that involves React and Node.js debugging. It was pretty involved but hey... things you have to do get a human these days, right?
Then came the interview! Something happened that hadn't happened in a long time, there were THREE people on the call. Talk about wasted resources. Why do you need three people for one person? Either way, they asked some great questions like "Tell me about a project you worked on" and "What is one way you could improve an app"... but then... they did something so sad that my heart sunk -- they asked "What is the definition of useMemo?" They were looking for literal textbook answers. Of course, I didn't know it at the top of my head but I have used it before obviously.
If you need 3 people to interview (and intimidate) a potential candidate and think the best way to interview the person you're looking for is to conduct a HackerRank test before even talking and THEN ask for specific textbook answers.... this is not it.
I don't understand how employers still think this is a great way to interview. Bullet dodged.
