      Candidatura

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 meses. Fui entrevistado pela IKEA (Centennial, CO) em nov. de 2013

      Entrevista

I applied in October and was offered a position two months later. First it was a phone interview with standard questions about how I would handle workplace situations and if I could work as a team. Then the face to face and about two pages of non-traditional questions but mostly on how I would handle situations. The 'second' interview was actually a job offer and drug test. The background check took forever with the company they use reporting inaccurate information even though I provided proof!!

      Entrevista

Applied online. I got emailed to set-up a phone interview, which took only about 15-20 minutes and pretty generic questions. After the phone interview, I was called in for in-person interview with two different supervisors-- also drug test and background check.

Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 2 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela IKEA (New York, NY) em dez. de 2015

      Entrevista

I applied online with a recommendation from a current employee at the time. I got a call within a couple days of submitting my resume and application. There is a phone interview prior to an in-person interview, with very basic questions, such as strengths, weaknesses, process of problem solving, and past experiences. They gave me an email notification confirming that I passed the phone interview and offered an in-person interview the following week. They asked me to wear business casual. They have separate interview rooms across the Loss Prevention office; the space was relatively small, but otherwise neutral. I had two people interviewing me, an HR representative and a Team Lead from the department. Both were very friendly and willing to provide as much information about the job as you wanted. It was a bit intimidating that they carried a file folder with a packet of over 20 essay style questions which they would continuously write notes for every single thing you've said. The entire process took about a half hour. At the end, they gave me a positive determination that I got the job, even though I was among the first interviews they had for the group that also applied. They sent me home with a packet that was equivalent to a terms of agreement and additional personal information fill out, to which if I officially got the job, I had to turn in and get one hour of pay for completion. Two days later I got confirmation that I got the job so long as I passed a drug screening, which required me to return to the same interview room, this time only accompanied by the same HR rep. The drug test was just a saliva sample on a stick that you had to keep in your mouth for a few minutes while you answered questions about any current government benefits, spousal and dependency relationships, military status (if any), unemployment pay, criminal history, etc. via telephone keypad. Afterwards, he gave me an orientation date, and mentioned that any complications in the drug test would be phoned prior, otherwise no news was good news. Side note: The only reason the process took so long was because I applied in the middle of Christmas season. I didn't include the length of time between the in-person interview and drug test, but that would make the entire process, technically, 3 weeks in total.

      Entrevista

I applied online and got invited to a job fair that was being held 3 days later. Interviews were group, four candidates per interview. Interview questions were standard/generic, after interview we were informed by the manager that she was, in fact, going to call us all back for a second interview. I personally was skeptical about the whole thing, but was surprised when was called back three days later for the second interview. The second interview was much like the first, only on a one-on-one basis instead of group. Same standard/generic questions, only much shorter and they will tell you right then and there if you are hired. Once you accept the position, you are whisked off to meet an HR rep where you sign all the paperwork, are given a packet, a gift card, and drug test. The entire hiring process was very smooth and quick. It only took less than a week and a half from the time I applied online to getting hired. Now after you get hired, it does take about a month from hired to starting, and this is because of the background check. The company they use to conduct their background checks is terrible. They ask for 6 years of previous employers, but will only investigate ONE prior, so make sure you have all the W-2 forms from all previous employers ready to go as evidence. For me personally, that process was an absolute nightmare, they investigated one previous employer, but got the information WRONG, so I had to file a claim and provide more evidence on top of everything else I previously provided. Seriously, I don't know what that company is getting paid for, since the applicant has to provide 99% of everything.

None, all questions are standard retail interview questions.
