Fiz uma entrevista na empresa IKEA (New York, NY).
Entrevista
I applied online for a visual merchandiser position. I heard back from recruiter Kathryn Clark to schedule a phone interview. I selected a date and time.
The day of the interview she called me on time which was the only positive of the whole experience.
Throughout the interview Kathryn sounded so disinterested and read the usual HR questions off a paper. I tried to answer as enthusiastic as I could but she had such a lackluster personality that it was hard to stay positive and try to connect with her. I applied for a visual position but she asked me nothing related to the job she ran off questions for a sales position.
I never had a interviewer sound as robotic as this one, very disinterested in speaking with me with absolutely no personality. After each question she said ok. And next question. Ok and next question. She was clicking away so hard on her keyboard making it hard for me to concentrate on answering her questions. Maybe she had so many interviews lined up and did not know who or what the candidates were applying for. AND I was so confused as to why I was asked all customer based questions.
If I am applying for a creative visual position shouldn’t someone in the same field be interviewing me?
Upon checking my call log she spoke with me for a total of 7 minutes!
She spoke nothing about the company or the job position and nothing about IKEAs core values.
She did not even end with if I have any questions for her as all jobs ask before concluding, I can already tell she probably had or selected the candidates before me to move forward or I was interrupting her lunch or something.
She could have at least put in some effort rather than make it so blatantly clear that I was not selected.
Understandably she has multiple job candidate she needs to interview but please treat each candidate with the same respect and enthusiasm.
IKEA needs a better hiring system and have management from their respected department or at least someone from HR in IKEA who knows what each position entails so they know what to ask the candidates!
They use a third party recruiting company which makes no sense!
Yes, a week later rejection letter from IKEA. Big shocker!
I would like to voice my opinion and overall experience to IKEA execs hopefully they can streamline this process and hire more enthusiastic and qualified HR that do not make qualified candidates feel so brushed off.

Generic questions read off paper. Nothing related to a visual role but customer service position.

Had to do an entire day of interview in person, with three assignments (one at home before the interview, one group, and one individual). They offered to give feedback after they rejected me. I didn't get one when I asked for it.
