I was invited for a phone interview with a HR. The 30 mins interview was set-up during lunch-time. It seemed to me that the HR had a set of typical standard questions (Introduction, what are my strengths, an example of project lead, when was my last position etc.) which she was probably reading from her note. I also noticed that she was rushing to finish the interview (which lasted 15-20 mins) when I was given the opportunity to ask some questions about the R&D team and their structure etc.. I did not find the HR energetic at all. I also had a hard time to hear her clearly as there was some sort of background sound/noise.
I had multiple interviews in NA with different R&D organizations ( big and mid size) in my career where I found the HRs were reasonably engaged in the discussion and/ asked follow-up questions on my answers. Disappointedly, the HR from IKO seemed to be interested in asking her set-up questions without showing any interest or giving any feedback on the answers.
I wish that IKO hiring team could have involved the technical manager in the beginning of the interview process as the advertised position is highly technical in nature. Overall, the interview experience was not great.
