First stage after CV and cover letter was a screening call with an in-house recruiter. The recruiter was very friendly and updated me on the progress of my application at the time they said they would.
Second stage was a 2-person panel interview with the team lead and senior scientist. I was told by the recruiter to expect competency based and technical questions but this is not at all what I got asked. I was asked random questions like "tell me something you've done that was difficult" and "what interests you outside of work". The interview felt like a waste of time and I got the impression that they didn't know what they were looking for. Regardless, I answered their questions to the best of my abilities and felt like I had established a good rapport with the interviewers by the end.
Despite reaching out to the recruiter multiple times, I never heard back from the recruiter/Ipsen as to the outcome of my application. I checked the online portal about a month after the interview and saw that the status of my application had been changed to 'Application Declined'. The recruiter had been so communicative at the initial stages, so I was very surprised and disappointed at how this was handled.
It's very poor recruitment practice to not communicate with job applicants, especially those that have interviewed with the company. I feel put off from this company and will probably never apply there again.
