First interview is with CEO. Don't panic, it's standard procedure. How cool that you get to speak to the head honcho?? Do your homework and you'll be fine. The following would be with the hiring manager and then possibly a colleague. Easy simple process. Do your research and you'll be fine.

Nice people. Initial phone interview lasts just a few minutes -- a standard pre-screening interview. Face-to-face HR interview is also a standard "tell me about yourself" and "how would you describe" or "what would you do" Q/A session. Practice and prepare for a typical HR interview... there's nothing tricky. The hiring manager interview is a conversational one-on-one interview. They seem to believe they're very busy and work very quickly, but based on the time windows provided they actually work very slowly. Give some thought into what you'd do to help them drive new leads and make improvements to various aspects of their marketing program. Apparently my answers did not hit their target -- they sent me a "not interested" letter almost immediately. My impression is that they're looking for a Marketing Manager ready to move up to new responsibilities and a higher salary rather than an experienced Director moving sideways or taking a cut in salary. A couple of things to keep in mind: their salaries are low (they're a small, private company) and if you're middle aged or older (like me) you probably won't even be considered; although their senior managers are older, their staff people are very young. The office space is what you'd expect in a privately owned company and the dress is business casual.
