Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela Illumina (San Diego, CA) em abr. de 2017
Entrevista
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I heard back from the recruiter after a week of applying. The first round was a video interview, which was a unique experience. I had 8 pre-set questions, 3 technical, 4 behavioral, 1 regarding previous work exp. The questions pop-up on the screen one after the another, and I had 30 seconds to prepare for the answer and 4 minutes to record the answer for each question. You also get to practice few questions at the start in order to get comfortable with the process.
After almost 10 days of submitting video interview, I was scheduled for a phone interview with the hiring manager. This was a technical round and it went on for 1 hour. Everything in SAP ABAP, from basic concepts to advanced topics, was covered in this round. After another 10 days, I got the invitation for an onsite interview. Everything from tickets to hotel to food was arranged by the recruiter.
I was scheduled to meet IT Director, followed by the SAP team, and Lunch with HR. The questions asked were behavioral plus technical. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Nice people and great company!

First Round is a video round where you need to answer few questions which consists of both technical and behavioral. These questions have to be recorded. Second round is a phone interview with a person on the team, this round is completely technical and it is a good one. But my suggestion to the Illumina HR team about the second round is it would be great if they had 2 or 3 people on the call instead of one person deciding, may be HR team has a reason for having only one person on this round. But my thought is it would rule out any bias being done. Third round would be with the team at their HQ.
