Candidatei-me por meio de recrutador(a). O processo levou 3 meses. Fui entrevistado pela Immerse (Londres, Inglaterra) em mai. de 2023
Entrevista
Went through a recruiter who was great, also had contact with the HR lead/business partner who was also fantastic. Interview process consisted of three stages.
1. Preliminary chat with Head of HR
2. Chat with Development Team - Fairly casual and warm experience with key members
3. Tech Test review and final meet with CTO/CEO
The issue is that the process took 3 months in total. I was told by the recruiter and the Head of HR that I was the leading candidate, but they wanted to go through a process with others. Received no negative feedback whatsoever. Was made to wait months for a final decision which ended up being a no.
I firmly believe the reason for this is because I had my final interview a whole 2 months prior to the other two candidates getting theirs a day before a final decision was made.
If they were impressed by me and my skills, I would bet they had completely forgotten what I had said in my final interview 2 months prior, as opposed to the other two final candidates who had a day between their interviews and a final decision. This is what is known as "recency bias", and I feel I very much fell victim to this.
Everyone at Immerse was lovely, but I would call this catalogue of poor timing and bad luck syncing up as a team to discuss candidates on a more even timeline a HUGE red flag.
You might think 'this person is just bitter' and you would be half correct. I should have withdrawn my application a long time before the end of the process, but have recently got another job within the space of two weeks.
I would argue the process and messing around I received from Immerse is indicative of their business in general - would you want to work for a company who takes that long to get things in order? I would say it would be chaos, and ultimately I feel like I dodged a bullet.
I wish the successful candidate all the luck in the world, it seems like a fun company & good place to work, but their inactivity on my application only made me worthless.

I applied while I was living in France.
After an email conversation with the CTO who answered my questions about the job and the company, I went through a tech test for the browser automation software I would use on the job. The test was very well built, and I had a lot of fun with it.
The company then told me they were interested in meeting me and paid for my travel expenses to come in for a face to face interview.
I got to chat with the CTO, a DevOps engineer, a product manager and a MEAN(web full-stack) engineer. They demo'd some of their past work, we talked about the code and answers I submitted for the tech test and then we did a mock sprint planning.
The CTO wrote back to me quickly and the company made arrangements to help me with moving to London.
