      You're sit down with Ali or Steve and they interview you on your knowledge of Linux and webhosting. Usually it's very basic stuff with them asking if you have ever owned and operated a website. And if you have any experience with Linux, CentOS in particular. Was a pretty straight-forward interview.

      Entrevista

      Extremely unethical and unprofessional. They advertise the job as a $40,000 a year plus bonuses and benefits position. When the recruiter emails you, they mention it basically pays you $30,000 or around $14-16 per hour base pay and when you reply to set up a phone interview, they low ball you once more before the interview even begins and try to get you to accept $12 per hour for starting pay (same position). You cannot get anymore crooked than that and obviously want to undermine the value of outstanding talent before they are even come in the door. The other reviews reflect their poor work environment as well as I cautioned myself before applying in the first place. One person even went as far as calling it the dungeon and how sour the management is. Wow! Stay far away!!!

      While we are very sorry about your experience, we do appreciate your feedback. Candidates often apply for multiple positions and after an assessment has been completed, we recommend the position that we feel will best set them up for success. Our compensation program for the technical support position does consist of a training pay rate and once team members complete training, they do move to a base rate plus bonus compensation plan. The bonuses are based on individual performance so team members can have a direct impact on their actual compensation. It appears that more than one compensation package was discussed with you, as there is variation across positions.       Entrevista

      After sending my cover letter and resume, I was contacted to fill out some screening forms. The companies recruiter scheduled a screening interview. This interview questions was much like the next interview with the management. Although, it deal with just with asking me if I've used Linux, setup email, but the answers required much less detail. The interview with the management was a Skype interview., and was a few days later. There were two members of management interviewing. There was a brief introduction to the company and work environment. I was asked what is a reasonable expectation for employee attendance, e.g. is it reasonable to ever be late. They wanted to know how I would handle a customer that asked for a supervisor. I was asked to just explain steps to resolve email issues, to explain DNS, if I owned any domains, have I had a hosting account, have I worked in a call center, provide an example of great customer support, what you would do to migrate a site, how to connect to a DB using PHP, explain a list of verbally given acronyms, their function and common port number, list html elements until they say when, and whether you have Linux experience.

      I was asked for the Gentoo's package management command to rebuild (compile) the complete list of packages in the world file and dependencies. Gentoo is an awesome distribution which allows ease of tuning beyond most other Linux distributions, but I've yet to see it used in a professional environment. So I was unprepared to answer the details.
