Entrevista
After looking at LinkedIn and finding out that your company was hiring for the position as "Learning Facilitator" I applied for the job and received an email from one of your HR representatives to have an "informal" call.
The call itself was a great opportunity to speak in more detail about my experience and HR was very good at explaining the company and the details of what the role entails.
A few days later, I received an invitation to have an interview with one of the partners at their office. I agreed to it, however, a day later it was mentioned to me that I would be doing the interview together with another candidate at the same time. It seemed a bit odd since we both would only have 1 hour with one of the partners to discuss our experiences and expectations for the position. It was told to me by HR that this was not a competition but simply an interview to hear more about the company.
When I arrived at the interview in person together with the other candidate we had a serious interview where I and the candidate had to share our time in order to impress and show our experiences and skills to the partner (who was also under time pressure which she mentioned to us).
The interview went well and we were told that we would hear from HR.
I received an email from HR asking me how the interview went and how I had liked it. HR wanted to schedule a call to hear my feedback.
We had another call where I spoke very highly of the interview and the partner as well as the job. After that I was told that I had no qualifications and that I had not gotten through to the next round. It seemed very odd to me since it all sounded really positive up until that point.
I was then told that I had to follow up with HR after every step of the interview process which I did not do since I didn't think that was mandatory. I was also lectured on the difference between facilitation and training even though I answered that question during the f2f interview. I was also told that my experiences weren't enough solely based on that shared interview I had. Due to time I obviously did not have the time to get into detail regarding my experiences since I had to be respectful toward the other candidate.
I wrote a follow-up email to HR thanking her for her time after the call ended since she told me that was something she was expecting me to do. I then received a reply from her saying "you learn fast".
In the end, I was left feeling defeated and not heard and a bit humiliated. I was unable to express my full potential and show the skills I indeed had for the position.
The entire HR experience was very odd to me and I left this experience very confused.
