The interview process is a multi-stage evaluation where employers assess a candidate's skills, experience, and cultural fit through conversations The interview process is a multi-stage evaluation where employers assess a candidate's skills, experience, and cultural fit through conversations
The interview process was overall smooth and well-organized. The recruiters were professional and kept me informed about each stage. However, I was a bit surprised by the type of questions asked.
Even though I have 3 years of hands-on development experience, most of the technical rounds were heavily focused on DSA (Data Structures & Algorithms) rather than real-world problem solving or project-based questions. I was expecting more questions around Spring Boot, Microservices, Database design, and system-level problem solving, which are more relevant to the role.
The DSA focus might be helpful for freshers or competitive programmers, but for experienced professionals, it felt somewhat disconnected from day-to-day work. Still, if you are preparing for Infosys interviews, I would strongly suggest brushing up on core DSA (arrays, strings, recursion, trees, and sorting problems) along with Java fundamentals.
Pros:
Transparent process and good recruiter communication.
Fair timeline between interview rounds.
Questions were clear, no trick-based approach.
Cons:
Too much emphasis on DSA even for experienced roles.
Less focus on real-world Java/Spring Boot project knowledge.
Advice to Management:
Consider balancing interview questions between DSA and practical development skills to better evaluate experienced candidates.
