Not a true team lead type role, as there would be 50% plus hands on coding. The corporate recruiter did not accurately communicate the expected responsibilities. My initial impression was that the company was going to transition from contractors into direct hires, which turned out not be the case. Not enough time was allotted for the interview. The interviewer cut me off in the middle of reviewing my recent professional experience (rude). The budgeted salary appears to be lower than the current market for experience engineers. Are they really looking for more of a code monkey or an experienced architect / engineer? Based on the interview and pay, I suspect more of a code monkey. In other words, more of the same issues I've come to expect from corporate IT, not interesting in anyone who can impact the company, just looking for a worker bee.
Recommendations: Be upfront and clearly communicate the nature of the role. Don't misrepresent a senior developer role as being a team lead role. Focus more on leadership and how a team lead serves and empowers the team.
