After completing the writing assessment, candidates will participate in two in-person interviews. The first interview will be with a senior associate, who will focus on evaluating time management and deadline-oriented skills, research abilities, and overall work style. Candidates can also expect questions about their life, goals, and approach to professional challenges. The final interview will be with the head of management, providing an opportunity to discuss broader strategic thinking, fit within the team, and long-term contributions to the organization.

They pretty much give interviews to every applicant, even if you have no chance at getting the job. The on-site interview at their Reston office is actually going to be a group interview where you sit with several other applicants -- they do this because, again, they give interviews out to everyone. It's okay if you live in DC and you can take the metro out, but don't waste your time coming out if you live far away.
