I originally met with recruiters at a career fair that my school held. The recruiters were all from different technical areas and some were HR. I specifically asked for someone to speak with that had a technical background and that was capable of talking about my background in chemistry. During the career fair portion they mainly asked questions specifically related to my resume and also poked at whether I knew what Intel does. I was contacted two days later by email to set up an in person interview for two weeks later. The onsite interview lasted the morning. We arrived at 8am and were given a talk by HR about what Intel is all about, their benefits and also about the workplace culture for engineers. This was a mass hiring event so the room was full of mostly recent college graduates all applying for engineering positions. Then were we taken back for our formal interviews which lasted one hour. Two engineers interviewed me for 30 minutes and then two other engineers interviewed me for the final 30 minutes. The questions were a mix of HR and technical questions related to my resume and also questions that they read directly out of a booklet dependent on your major. They were quite friendly and overall I felt that the process went smoothly and was pretty easy. If you have a Ph.D the interviewing process is typically different and you are required to give a presentation on your thesis. Their interviewing process usually takes place over two days. After the interview ended they provided a buffet style lunch where the interviewers came and ate lunch with us. I was contacted two weeks later by an HR hiring rep with the job offer.
