I recently applied for a permanent role at IxDF, and while there were some positive aspects, several issues left me disappointed. The initial stages were organized, and I appreciated the practical task involving video editing and animation. However, after investing considerable time and effort, I received only a generic rejection email with no feedback. For a company that emphasizes transparency and fairness, a brief debrief or constructive feedback would have been expected, particularly to clarify which part of my application might have missed the mark. Another concern was the lack of clarity around the role's nature. Although advertised as a permanent remote position, it turned out to be freelance or contract-based, requiring candidates to handle their own taxes, health insurance, and other benefits—an arrangement that does not provide the stability implied by a permanent role. This felt misleading and underscored the need for greater transparency. Additionally, the compliance and salary expectations questionnaire suggested a lack of understanding about gross salary calculations, as it asked for a "gross salary" figure but specifically excluding taxes. This confusion raised further concerns about the process. In summary, while IxDF promotes values of transparency and fairness, my experience fell short of these ideals. Clearer job descriptions, accurate salary discussions, and more personalized feedback would significantly enhance the candidate experience.
