It began with a brief interview by the recruiter. This is the second time this company has contacted me. The 1st time the manager was more interested in my relationship with Lisa Morita. There was not much discussion on my qualifications. The second time the recruiter contacted me on LI. It became very obvious straightaway that politics drive this company's decision making more than talent. The pay is a bit low but what struck me straightway was just the mention of pay and nothing about benefits. Well apparently there are none as I would discover. Even if you attract decent talent, how do you expect to retain them? The manager who interviewed me was not someone with deep SEO experience. No mention of AI search, ranking systems, and/or even guidelines. He struck me as an IT or coder type based on the chat about two sites I only learned about in the interview. He also never said hello or introduced himself which was odd.
