      Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 semanas. Fui entrevistado pela JPMorganChase (Tampa, FL) em abr. de 2009

      Entrevista

      Initial contact was a screening phone interview with a manager/director type, followed by a technical person, both segments lasted a total of about an hour, & proceeded as follows: the manager first presented company and departmental and position overview for about twenty minutes. I followed up with a few pertinent questions. Then it was my turn to present my background in detail, with my CV as guide, which took about twenty five minutes. The manager then followed-up with questions about certain items, said goodbye, and hung up, thereby concluding part one. Within a couple of minutes, a technical person called and quizzd me with numerous textbook type questions, as well as some that might be more relevant during a normal work day. I asked for clarification a couple of times, and overall, it went well. This segment lasted fifteen-twenty minutes. About two weeks later I was invited for an in-person interview. It was a panel, with six folks, including the manager who had phoned me. The others were managers/leaders of various units within the department. They were all very friendly and congenial so after the inital jitters, I felt at ease during the forty-five minute session. (They were dressed business casual, as were others I observed). It basically consisted of me doing a thorough walkthrough of the CV, puncutated with specific questions by panel members, pertaining to spefific exposure and experience. I followed up with a few questions and when when everybody seemed satisfied, the session ended, and I was escorted out by the manager, with a "we''ll be in touch". A couple of days later, I was offered the position but I politely declined since anotheroffer was extended. My overall impression was that the folks were very competent, dilgent and there might be quite a stressful environment, coupled with long hours. The compensation was quite decent, (given Florida standards). However, as always, it was a learning experience for me and would gladly do it again.

      The recruiter called randomly to mobile without any intimation and had an adhoc recruiter call for about half an hour. They scheduled a 45 minute meeting with hiring manager. The hiring manager joined 10 minute late as she said she was running late after some meeting and said she had another call in 15 minute. So had a very rude rapid fire kind of questions from her and she didnt even wait for me to answer completely. And was rejected.

      It went well overall; the interview was technical, with questions focused on concurrency concepts and problem solving, while the system design portion felt straightforward, manageable, and relatively easy to complete.
