DAY 1. I walked inside Jimmy John's and asked for an application. Everyone there was pretty much around my age, give or take a few years, so the environment was really, really chill. The application barely had anything on it. It didn't ask for schooling, job experience, or references. All it asked for was your name, address, and if you're at least 16.
DAY 1 (Later that day...) I came back that afternoon with the application filled out, but to my surprise, instead of just taking it and saying they will let me know, the manager asked me to sit down in one of the booths for a quick interview. It threw me off because I wasn't even dressed nicely, just my normal attire. And on top of that, I had someone waiting in the car for me. I didn't want to risk not getting the job by asking to reschedule, so I sat down and went on with the interview. The manager wasn't that much older than me, maybe early to mid 20s and he talked as if he were still in high school, using a lot of slang and swear words (Which I don't really care for).
During the interview, he would ask me weird questions like what is my favorite car (I'm guessing it was because I was applying for a Delivery position?) and he asked me simple questions about my work ethics as if he had to ask them. He was a really cool guy, and he asked me to come back tomorrow. Again, it threw me off guard, but in a good, happy way because I was in desperate need of a job.
DAY 2. I came back and the same guy gave me a list of the menu and told me to study it to know how to make the sandwiches. That was pretty much it, so I just went home and studied it with the impression that if I memorized everything, he would hire me.
DAY 3. I walked inside Jimmy John's, but the guy wasn't there, so I talked to another manager and she sat me down for another interview. She had a white folder with a bunch of paper work for me sign and she told me I got the job. After all the paper work, the general manager came by and asked if I could start working, right then and there. I hated to tell him I couldn't that exact moment, but he was okay with it. So, I started working the next day.
