I completed an application online and then was invited to complete a test - this consisted of situation questions, mostly relating to how you would cope with a large workload. I was then some days later invited a group assessment day (I could not attend the original one, so was invited to the next one a month later). There were 9 other people being assessed on the day and around 20 assessors. Firstly, as an ice-breaker we were all (including the assessors) to come up with an interesting fact about ourselves. 5 of us did the interview first, and the other, the group activity. The interview was conducted by two women, who, honestly, gave me the impression that they just wanted to go back to their desks and get on with their work. The interview was competency based, so as long as you have some good examples it should be fine. Afterwards, it was a group activity which involved reading through a booklet of different types of a certain product, we then as a group had to decide which would be best to launch as a bestseller at Christmas, and how we would execute this. We sat and discussed whilst the assessors listened in. The main thing about this exercise was to show your knowledge, but also to show you're a team player. 2 weeks passed and I heard nothing - I was promised a phonecall with an update 3 times and never received one, then 16 days after the interview I received an email to say I had been put into the 'Candidate Bank' and that I had passed the assessment day, but there wasn't a role available for me currently and that I would be in this 'bank' for up to 3 months. The following Tuesday I was offered a role.
