I was contacted by a recruiter based on an application I submitted for a different role a few years prior. I had a pre-screen with her, then the hiring manager took over the process. I spoke to the hiring manager, her manager, and then, separately, two additional people I would be working with closely. Most folks seemed passionate about the work, but unprepared for an interview and a bit distracted. I felt like maybe I was brought in to supplement an existing candidate and that they weren't seriously interested in me, which felt like a waste of time for everyone. After the last interview I didn't hear from them for a week, followed up, heard back a week after that that it was still in process, then a few days later that the role had been filled. The whole process took about six weeks.
