Candidatei-me por indicação de um funcionário. O processo levou 1 dia. Fui entrevistado pela Jumpfactor em mai. de 2022

      Entrevista

I've done 2 sets of interviews with Jumpfactor. The first time through I was frustrated with the vast amount of conflicting information they provided about writing assignments, the grammatical and spelling errors in the instructions, broken links, and lack of response to questions, so I bailed at the end. The second time through I was fast-forwarded through an industry contact to a test assignment of my choice. I found the exact same issues, spelling and grammatical errors in the instructions, conflicting how-to" examples to complete the writing assignment, broken links, and conflicting instructions. In short, it was the same dog's breakfast I experienced first time around.

The real person interview was pretty information and they just asked for writing samples.

In one word: awful. In three words: devoid of humanity. I am NEVER one to leave a negative review anywhere but in this case, I felt it warranted. I only hope their HR department absorbs what I have to say and considers making changes to their process accordingly. The process started innocently and predictably enough. I received a request from the recruiter to complete a few pre-screening questions within 48 hours, which I did happily. From there, they emailed saying they'd be in touch if I passed the pre-screen. Two days later, success! I received another email asking me to complete a 15-30 minute pre-recorded interview via an online platform within 24 hours. Spoiler alert: It took much longer. It was unnerving but hey, you want the job, you do it. And at that point, I was still rather intrigued. The question appears, you have 1 minute to collect your thoughts and then you have to click Record. Ok, fine, I guess for COVID reasons automating this critical step seems sorta fair. And yet, I interviewed with another company who was glad to have their CMO, CEO and Director of Product Marketing hop on separate Zoom calls with me. Oh, but wait, could you please ALSO complete this ADDITIONAL questionnaire? Three weeks goes by. 3.WEEKS. I had honestly put it out of my mind at that point so was rather shocked when I received another EMAIL. This time, asking me to complete a short personality assessment within 24 hours. Well that personality assessment then turned into some kind of math test. "We realize you might not be able to complete all 50 questions in 15 minutes but give it your best shot." Don't you dare use a calculator! "If you go into the store with X and Y is on sale for Z, how many Z's can you get with B". "Here are 3 random graphics with icons in them. Pick the 4th one in the pattern." You have GOT to be kidding me. This is a WRITING JOB! I write for a reason...so I don't have MATH. Though I'm sure there's some scientific study somewhere that points to how this applies to performance or success or whatever, it was absolutely ridiculous and a complete waste of time. Oh and I for sure failed it because I was so annoyed at that point that I just kept picking random answers. Seriously, how much time do you expect me to invest in applying for a position with your firm and you have YET to pick up the phone to speak with me?! Oh but wait. There's more. Now comes the Technical Test. 150 minutes writing a blog post on some random topic. No problem there. I fully expected a test that actually made sense but after all of this?! 1. screening questions 2. Video interview 3. Questionnaire 4. Personality assessment 5. Math test Listen, not ONCE during this process did I have the opportunity to speak to a real LIVE human. If I had made it successfully past the 5 steps above, I would have hopped on an interview with the CEO. Newsflash: No further contact from them. Not a 'thank you', not an offer for a debrief...NOTHING. I have worked with software companies throughout my career. I love what I do and the people I get to do it with. I feel blessed every day for my work experiences and most recently, an interview process with another software company. Please explain to me how putting a candidate through ALL OF THE ABOVE without so much as a Zoom interview or phone call is at all fair. It's time to put the HUMAN back in Human Resources. You can do better. You really can. I haven't read through the other interview experiences for Jumpfactor but I do hope someone else has spoken up. It's a tough time to be unemployed. Making a candidate jump through every hoop imaginable without so much as a 'thank you' or a 'follow up' (especially in the later stages of the process) is unprofessional and sad. Having a little empathy goes a long way.
