For all intents and purposes, this was a fake interview for a non-existent role. I was emailed a very detailed case study with specific business problems a few days before interviewing with the senior leadership team including the CEO.
Prior to the interview, I was asked to provide a 5-page business memo for their executives to review. After close to two hours of questioning and elaborating on ideas and strategies, I was later told they would not be moving forward.
The CEO refused to provide written feedback as this was “not a part of their process”, but would only do so verbally… although I’d provided them with a document which they kept. At the time of writing this, the role was not filled and removed from their website.
These tactics aren’t new in the tech industry, but they’re very low on integrity, and if that’s any indication of the type of culture you’re in for, I would steer clear.
