I had a brief phone screen with the COO (Misty) that went really well. I was called in to interview with both her and the owner (Rachel). When I arrived, I sat in the reception area for 10 minutes before anyone even noticed I was there, even though I had an appointment. I know they heard me come in because the door slammed behind me, which actually startled me. Eventually someone showed up and looked at me like I was lost. I explained I was there for an interview (which was now 15+ minutes later). She shuffled off and never returned. Finally, Misty comes out and brings me into a conference room, leaves briefly and returns with Rachel. I knew I wasn't going to get the role as soon as I was introduced. Rachel walked into the room and immediately sized me up, not as a professional but as a woman. Despite Misty's best efforts, Rachel was very unprofessional to the point of being "catty" throughout the entire meeting. The interview questions were related to recruiting and retention. They were obviously struggling to source and then retain quality talent. Another question focused on dealing with toxic company culture, with the caveat around retention. The whole vibe of the place is very negative and political. I had obviously read the reviews online before taking this interview, but wanted to keep an open mind. However, the reviews are spot on, Rachel is the problem with this company. Their website states that KR Wolfe stands for Quality, Understanding and Caring, Exceptional Service, SPIRIT (Spreading Positivity, Initiating Relationships, Inspiring Teamwork) and Trust and Integrity. There was no SPIRIT during this interview much less Caring, Trust or Integrity. The tone comes from the top and you have certainly set the tone by not embracing your own core values.
