The interview process began with a discussion with the Director of Tech, followed by a take home assignment, a group technical interview, a culture fit interview, and ended with a final meeting with the CEO.
Overall, I had a mostly positive experience during the interviews. However, I felt that the process could be better structured. The 90-minute technical test was intense, and it was challenging to complete all the required tasks within that limited time. They used an opinionated framework which took the longest for me to do because, well, you have to know how the docs do it. Additionally, during the interview, the director chose to yawn loudly, which made me feel underappreciated and disrespected, especially after traveling to their office for the meeting.
Even though this was a Fullstack role, the whole technical assessment was on the backend technologies, almost as if they wanted to hire a Backend developer.
The culture fit interview felt awkward, because I felt I was directing the flow of conversation (which I shouldn't). Even though both the Director and a non-technical PM were present, the conversation was dominated by technical questions asked by the director. This left me feeling bad for the PM.
All this interview, and the rejection email included no feedback whatsoever.
