Awful, awful experience. I was referred to the job position of Executive Assistant by a former KW agent. Initially, I was instructed to go home and take the TTI Insights Success Questionnaire which I was told would be "discussed" in person at in a meeting. TTI Results in hand, I thought I was meeting with a prospective supervisor for coffee but it ended up being two individuals from KW jointly interviewing me in a rather cold, serious manner, which I let slide. They told me that they would discuss possible compensation during my upcoming "trial day." *RED FLAG #1*
On the scheduled date, I met my potential supervisor at the local KW office under the impression that I was going to come by to get a feel for how things worked. When I arrived, they acted very aloof, distracted, and cold. This supervisor immediately put me to work on a task in an isolated corner with no explanation or polite intros to anyone else. I felt very unappreciated and taken advantage of. Very disturbing. *RED FLAG #2* This "task" took seven full hours with no breaks. I did a FULL SEVEN (7) HOURS (with no prior paperwork signed and NO bathroom breaks) of a "trial day" to "see if you're a good fit."
The supervisor hovered over my shoulder to "check on my progress" throughout the day and added to my piling work load about once every 30 minutes. It was very overwhelming, even for someone like myself who thrives on fast-paced work environments. This supervisor did not train me, give me a tour of the office, or tell me what was expected of me in any shape or form. My task did not reflect my job description or duties whatsoever. *RED FLAG #3*
I was the last person to leave the building before they locked the doors. The supervisor disappeared after about 4 hours of helicoptering. I never saw them again.
The following evening, I emailed them because they still had not confirmed receiving the work I submitted. Multiple sketchy correspondences later with no concrete answers, I learned that I would only be getting paid $10/hr on a 90-day trial basis with no benefits whatsoever for the position of Executive Assistant. I felt like I had been victimized in a giant corporate scam. When I decided to respectfully decline the job offer, the response was less than warm and the supervisor took the time to include some unwarranted comments that were at the very least caddy and unprofessional.
P.s. If anyone wants to see the work I did for those 7 hours - don't worry, I have it saved in my Google drive. I'm not afraid to share. #SPREADTRUTH
P.p.s. As of today, more than 6 months later, I have NOT received compensation for those seven (7) hours of work.
