I came in and met with HR and the senior developer. We talked about my projects, interests in coding, and general get to know you questions. HR had a list of typical interview questions (how do you handle certain workplace situations, past successes, difficulties you overcame, etc.) while the senior dev was more technical and interested in past work. We worked a few SQL problems, said they had and assessment for me to complete, and after it was done would let me know if they'd have me in for a second interview.
I took the assessment and did well enough that they brought me in for a second interview with the development team and to meet the CFO. The dev team talked about the technologies they were using, where they wanted to take the company's site, personal interest, etc. They let me know that I was their only applicant who got both coding questions correct, so I was feeling fairly confident in my chances of landing the job.
However, after my wonderful meeting with the team if was time to meet with the CFO. He had the dev team get back to work and him and the senior dev interviewed me more (mostly him). Everything seemed to be going fine until it got, in my opinion, too personal for a professional interview. I had been unemployed for some time and was having issues lading a coding job (3+ years for junior level and I was just starting out). The CFO started making assumptions about me at this point and essentially stated that I was a failure as a husband to my new bride since I wasn't supporting for her. He also asked how I was able to cover my mortgage (I'd mentioned earlier that we had recently bought a house). He asked for a reference at my last job, said they'd contact me in a week, but he'd destroyed me and I knew I'd never get the job. Never heard back from them and very glad I avoided working in the same office as the completely rude and unprofessional CFO. The senior developer and the dev team were really cool though, I feel bad for them.
