I recently participated in a thorough and engaging 9-step interview process at Klarna. Each step introduced me to a more senior team member, and the staff was incredibly helpful throughout. One of the steps included an IQ test during a live video call with screen sharing, which added an element of pressure.
Despite the overall positive experience, I was disappointed with the salary offer I received at the end of the process. It was lower than my current salary, which I had clearly communicated from the beginning. This led me to decline the offer, feeling that the process was ultimately a waste of time due to a breakdown in communication regarding compensation.
I hope Klarna considers improving their communication about salary expectations early in the process to prevent similar situations for future candidates.
