One of the worst interview experiences I've ever had began when a recruiter approached me about a role at Knight Frank. The first interview went exceptionally well, just general chit-chat, and within minutes, the recruiter called to say they wanted a second interview, believing I was a "perfect" match for the role. I informed them that I was available the following week but would be on leave for the next three weeks.
They struggled to coordinate with the senior team at Knight Frank and eventually scheduled the interview during my leave. Despite my reluctance, I agreed to an afternoon interview on my first day away.
Two hours before the interview, I received a cancellation from Knight Frank with no further communication. After the recruiter and I made over 20 calls, they finally informed us that the role had been filled in an earlier interview.
It's not an issue that someone else got the role, but some common courtesy would have been appreciated, especially since I sacrificed a day of my trip for the interview they were so eager to have. Overall, I would rate this process and the company's decency at 0 stars.
