Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 2 dias. Fui entrevistado pela Kount (Boise, ID) em abr. de 2015
Entrevista
The interview process was fairly involved.
The first round was with HR and I felt like that went really well. They asked some technical questions, but I wouldn't say it was overly technical in content. In many aspects, they wanted to know about your accomplishments and challenges over the course of your career. Overall, I felt like this phase went well. They did a good job with probing questions and were very personable.
The second round occurred a couple weeks later involved more technical people. This was an interesting situation. There was a lot of what I consider internship questions. They will ask you about specific directories and the name of file extensions. A lot of these are simple questions, but it definitely felt more like a memorization oriented interview. In my experience, these types of interviews are generally reserved for entry level employees who can't speak to specific processes.
A lot of the most successful DevOps people I've met may not have all this type of information memorized anymore as they've automated a lot of mundane processes to provide a more consistent and efficient experience. They would use a search engine and/or review their source code to provide the answers that were asked in the interview.
Overall, I would say the HR interview went well and was fairly a-typical. The technical interview seemed more focused on memorization so I would definitely study a lot about Linux operating systems, encryption, etc.
I didn't get an offer, but I withdrew my name from consideration because I took another offer in the meantime. Their hiring process took several weeks and in that time I had several offers that were more competitive and more focused on acquiring senior personnel.
