      Entrevista

      The hiring process was very thorough, beginning with a phone screen with a recruiter. The phone screen lasted about 30 minutes and was basically a review of my background and how it compared to the position description. The phone screen also included some AP Style questions from one of the hiring managers. The next step was a phone interview with a hiring manager. She asked some follow-up questions from the initial phone screen and we discussed my experience more in depth. I believe this lasted approximately 45 minutes. A few weeks later I was invited to participate in an in-person interview process. I interviewed with five different people (all one-on-one interviews -- Talent Acquisition director, PR manager, PR coordinator, HR VP and a manager in another department) and had lunch with a sixth person (an HR manager). During the interviews I learned there was potentially a second position to support communications efforts in a different department. The process also included two tests -- one personality-based test that was completed prior to the interview and a computerized skills test (not writing/editing, but more cognative thinking) that was completed onsite. The company seems very committed to improving employee communications. I was impressed by how many people would have input into the decision to hire for this new position. Although I was not offered the job, I do think this is a great company with a strong committment to its employees. The office environment was business casual and very friendly. I would certainly apply there again if there was an opening that matched my skills.
