I was contacted directly by a recruiter from KRELL Consulting regarding a supposedly relevant opportunity and was told that my profile looked like a strong match for the project. At no point during the initial contact was advanced Spanish mentioned or discussed, despite this apparently being a key requirement for the role.
I replied the next day expressing interest and asking for more details. After that, there was complete silence for 10 days. I then sent a polite follow-up message and still received no response for another two weeks. Only after all of that was I finally informed that the client required advanced Spanish.
The language requirement itself is completely understandable. What is difficult to understand is how a profile can be presented as a “strong match” without even verifying such a fundamental requirement beforehand. A simple clarification from the beginning would have avoided weeks of unnecessary waiting and follow-ups.
The overall experience gave me a poor impression of the company’s communication standards and candidate handling process. Candidates deserve transparency, professionalism, and timely responses — especially after being contacted directly by recruiters.
