Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 3 meses. Fui entrevistado pela LYRASIS em out. de 2023
Entrevista
Very unique role, leading development of an open-source application, needing to balance the needs of your internal team and community contributors and end users. About four hours of interviews spread over three months, each with discussion questions sent ahead of time. This is a bit of a blessing and a curse, as it means you can prepare well, but with the number of questions on the docket, it's tough to find the time to have a real conversation. A nice process until the end of the final round, where I was half-heartedly asked to provide references if I was really sure I was still interested in the role, seemingly trying to get me to self-select out when they'd already made up their mind on a different candidate. It took another month before getting an official "no," which seems like information that could have been shared much sooner.

The ArchivesSpace program team works directly with the community that uses the application, and many activities like development prioritization and testing directly involve community members. As Tech Lead, what would you do to foster the strength of the community? In technical work, what are specific behaviors and/or practices that support communal efforts?

The team at Lyrasis did a really good job with communication and setting expectations throughout the entire interview process. There was an inordinate amount of applicants they received for this position and I thought they navigated it very well!
