Step one: Phone interview (basic interview questions for low-paying job, ie why are you interested in this job, background, availability)
Step two: In person meeting where applicant takes a 1 hour spelling and literacy/ cognitive test from the 1970s (unpaid time)
Step three: If you pass the tests, you are invited for in person meeting where they see if you fit within their personality and culture. This is a 3 hour unpaid meeting where the director shows video demonstrations of their researched model for child literacy tutoring. Applicant is expected to lead each exercise as teacher, then perform exercises as student. This process is quite challenging, but was meant for them to gauge if you are a fit for them.
(After spending near 5 hours of unpaid time interviewing At this point, I did not receive an email or phone call for rejection. Silence. Nothing. I hoped after my time and effort, and their professional disposition, one would assume this employer would have the courtesy to let me know my status.
Step 4: If you were a good fit, invited for an in person one on one interview with Director.
