Interviewed with senior technical staff as a group, not one on one. The interview panel was compose of highly technical engineers who were involved in the group with which I was interviewing. Interview involved both virtual and onsite.

How would you handle working with scientists who are world class experts in their domain as the engineering group supports the labs science objectives.

2 initial phone interviews led to an on site interview. Interview included a tour, a prepared presentation and a half hour of mostly non-technical questions. The key is showing interest in physics. They like to hire anyone with a background or interest in the end product.
