I interviewed with LifeLabs a few months ago and did not receive an offer, which made sense given it was a reach position for me. However, I did have one experience in the interview that did not sit right with me. As part of the interview, I did a demonstration of my teaching abilities. Afterwards, the two interviewers negatively critiqued my body movements during the demo, modeling and laughing about how I was swaying back and forth. This movement is due to my disability, and does not impact my ability to facilitate effectively in my current job, which is extremely public facing. Again, I don't think this was the reason I did not get the job, but I'd challenge LifeLabs to improve their disability education and refrain from criticizing the physicality of their candidates.
