Phone screen followed by video interview. Phone screen was rescheduled several times by recruiter. The screening itself was standard. The video interview was standard with a lot of questions about what kind of projects I worked on in the past. The most unexpected one was "name a time you had to make a software architectural decision". I was told they don't have a controls engineer now and have never had one. I think they are looking for a "perfect" candidate because the job posting has been up for many months. A few days later I got a standard rejection letter with no exact reason given.

Entrevista
The interview process at LightForce was structured to evaluate both technical expertise and interpersonal competencies. On the technical side, I was presented with a series of clinical cases that required detailed analysis. I walked the interviewers through my diagnostic reasoning, explained my interpretation of the clinical findings, and proposed comprehensive treatment plans based on evidence-based orthodontic principles.
In addition to the technical assessment, there were also questions aimed at understanding my soft skills and overall fit within the team. These included scenarios designed to evaluate communication, teamwork, adaptability, and how I navigate challenges in a collaborative environment. The goal was to assess not only my clinical proficiency but also how effectively I work with others and contribute to a positive team culture.

A recruiter reached and scheduled a time to connect, we talked about my previous work experience, LightForce and the role. It was enlightening and made me even more excited about this role and company. I then went through a few rounds of interviews with individuals I will be working with, I am very excited, wonderful conversation that didn't even make it feel like an interview. They were very respectful, and thoughtful with their questions.
