I was called in for a "screening", which also included, without warning, the actual interview. I was only told that it would be a spelling test and a critical thinking test. It was actually a two hour process, which began with short video presentation about the company, then a spelling test (not too difficult) and a 30 minute timed critical thinking test (rather difficult!). Then they had all the candidates pair up. We watched another video that demonstrated one of the program's teaching techniques, which we were to then do our best to duplicate with our partner. This was somewhat challenging, as we were given materials to use which weren't even shown in the video. I understood the basics of what was shown, but to try to replicate them right away, along with other items which weren't used in the demo, and was basically a highly specialized technique to teach reading comprehension--it was rather intimidating and felt unnatural. I think we were all very unsure. We were then told that we would be called one at a time for an actual interview. I had not been expecting this, but was ready. The face to face interview lasted approximately 10 minutes. Questions were stock questions, but seemed far more relevant to the position then the long pre-screening process.

There are 2 literacy exams and had a follow-up to meet with the center for a more formal interview asking about experience with education, tutoring, or any kind of childcare.
