I did a phone screen with Eric.
He was at the Embedded Linux Conference, so it was noisy. He was also on the conference wifi, so audio+video were spotty. He did apologize for the noise.
He mentioned that I might be overqualified. I reluctantly agreed but talked about the possibility of moving up later on, and he confirmed that is possible.
We talked about the salary range a bit, which was a bit low but roughly what I expected for a non-profit.
We discussed working remotely, which I have done for a few years.
We talked about the requirement of obtaining a LFCS certification for the position. I have an RHCSA+RHCE so this requirement is silly, but I was willing to obtain it anyways.
I sent a follow-up email and never heard back.
Overall I am disappointed at how the foundation is being represented to potential candidates.
I'm a huge open-source+Linux advocate and I've been a bit turned off by the lack of respect and consideration shown to a potential candidate here.
