I was told I would have a casual chat with someone from HR first. I logged onto the video call, and it was actually a formal technical 30-minute interview with both HR and someone from the department. During the interview, they asked me what salary I was looking for (I, of course, stated a wage that was within the range marked on the job ad.) The next day, before the company personally contacted me about the result of my interview, the job advert was re-uploaded again with a lower salary range.

Several stages of interview and a written task. I found the CEO quite intimidating... it felt like an interrogation rather than a conversation. I was expected to provide immediate answers for off-the-cuff, bizarre ideation questions that would be fun in a pub with friends but served to highlight a power dynamic in this interview scenario. The team members I met were lovely and passionate. I did the tasks, which were approved, but I wasn't made an offer as they later decided they wanted someone in a lower salary band.
